J. Brian Farrar
BIO
J. Brian Farrar is a Park City, Utah–based singer-songwriter and producer making modern folk with a country edge.
His songs are rooted in real moments—relationships that don’t quite hold, time that moves faster than you expect, and the quiet weight of things you don’t always say out loud. The writing is direct, the stories feel lived-in, and nothing’s dressed up just for the sake of it.
Musically, Farrar sits between indie folk and country—acoustic at the core, with steel, dobro, fiddle, and banjo brought in when they actually add something. The focus isn’t on building a wall of sound. It’s on giving the song enough space to land.
Farrar writes with a circle of trusted collaborators and works with top-tier players to bring the records to life, producing each track with a clear point of view from start to finish. Every part is intentional, and every performance is there for a reason.
In his first year of releases, he built an audience from the ground up, with listeners finding their way to the music one song at a time. No shortcuts—just songs that connect and hold up.
Outside of his own releases, Farrar also works as a songwriter and producer for other artists, bringing the same approach: keep it honest, keep it simple where it matters, and make it mean something.
